This policy explains how we handle information in this video-based language learning app. We aim to process only the information necessary to provide learning features, track progress, improve the experience, and troubleshoot issues. The in-app legal document pages are publicly accessible — reading the Privacy Policy or User Agreement does not require a login, and accessing these documents is not tied to your user identity.

Information We Process

When you use the app, we may process the following information:

  • Account and profile information, such as user ID, email address, email confirmation status, display name, avatar URL, date of birth, gender, academic or life stage, language and locale settings, time zone, IP geolocation cache, and onboarding status.
  • Learning and viewing information, such as video watch progress, watch duration, learning interactions, exercise results, unit completion status, and your current vocabulary set or learning goal collection.
  • Video interaction information, such as your likes, unlikes, saves, and unsaves on videos, along with the corresponding interaction counts.
  • Activity statistics, such as total seconds watched, number of exercises completed, number of units started, and your recent learning calendar.
  • Client environment information, such as platform, app version, device model, OS version, and the client time zone used to calculate your learning calendar.
  • Service operation information, such as request timestamps, API paths, status codes, error messages, and request identifiers used for troubleshooting.

How We Use This Information

We use this information primarily to:

  • Provide core features including video playback, subtitles, word explanations, exercises, and learning progress tracking.
  • Save your watch progress, exercise results, vocabulary set selection, and like and save states.
  • Generate more relevant learning recommendations based on your learning state and content index.
  • Display learning statistics, streak records, and profile information.
  • Troubleshoot issues, handle feedback, maintain service stability, and protect account security.

We do not treat requests to read legal documents as learning activity or include them in your user profile.

Feedback and Screenshots

If you submit a report through the in-app feedback channel, we store the content you actively provide. Feedback may include a JSON description and up to 5 JPEG images. Screenshots may contain information visible on your screen at the time of submission — please review them before uploading to ensure they do not include anything you prefer not to share.

Feedback images are stored as image files and are not embedded as base64 text in the JSON payload. We do not currently provide a public feedback list, support ticket status page, or image download page.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may use third-party infrastructure services — such as authentication, cloud hosting, databases, and storage — to operate the app. These services are used solely to provide, maintain, and protect the app, and not for unrelated marketing purposes. We do not share your personal information with unrelated third parties for marketing unless it is necessary to provide the service, comply with legal requirements, or address security or rights-related matters.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide learning features, preserve learning progress, process feedback, and maintain the service. Retention periods vary by data type — for example, learning progress is retained to support ongoing recommendations and progress display, while feedback is retained to assist with troubleshooting.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete or stop using it within a reasonable timeframe. During the current MVP stage, some requests may need to be handled manually through the in-app feedback channel, as we do not yet offer a full self-service data export or deletion portal.

Your Choices

You can use in-app features to select your vocabulary set and learning goals, and to like, unlike, save, or unsave videos.

If you would like to access, correct, or delete information associated with your account, please contact us through the in-app feedback channel. We will handle requests in accordance with current product capabilities, account security requirements, and necessary record retention obligations.

Submitting screenshots with feedback is optional. If a screenshot contains information you prefer not to share, you may choose not to upload it, or redact the relevant portions before submitting.

Minors

This app is intended for general language learners and is not specifically designed for children. If you are a minor, please use the app with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has provided us with inappropriate information, please contact us through the in-app feedback channel.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy as our product features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available on the in-app legal document pages.
